Mr. Tong
Mr. Tong (Master Instructor Spokane Valley and South Hill locations) – Mr. Tong is a 5th degree black belt who has been training and competing for over 20 years and has won Grand Champion at every major tournament in the Spokane area. He is an international self defense champion and has been featured in magazines such as the National Association for Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA). Mr. Tong is also the chairman of the board for Black Belt Schools International which consults thousands of school owners worldwide. Mr. Tong has taught hundreds of school owners across the country and has been hired by the largest martial arts company in the world to produce his innovative series of Modern Kenpo Self- Defense DVDs. Mr. Tong has a unique ability to inspire students of all ages to be their best on their journey to become black belts. Mr. Tong and his lovely wife “Ms. Amanda” are also the owners of the Spokane Valley Elite Martial Arts.




Styles of Martial Arts
Our program is developed from Modern Kenpo Karate, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kali-Escrima, Krav Maga, Millennium Weapons Training, XMA, Judo and more. This allows us to give you a broad range of martial arts knowledge and keep classes fun and exciting, never “the same old thing.”

Fun Special Events
Not only do our students learn the most but they have the most fun! In recent weeks our students have taken part in Buddy Days, Pizza Parties, Samurai and Ninja Birthday Parties, Sleepovers, Movie Nights, an Ice Skating “Play Date”, Laser Quest, Parent’s Night Out events, and Parent Appreciation Nights. You can rest assured that we have many more of these fun and exciting events coming up!

Our most recent guest was Sparring Champion Doug Bertrand!  Stay tuned for future guests.

Previously, we have had World Judo Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Mike Swain, Olympic Taekwondo exper Rocky Abild, and Kenpo Karate expert Chris Herman.

We have also had Scott Marker and Joe Jones. Mr. Marker and Mr. Jones have over 50 years of combined training experience in Kali Escrima and Jiu Jitsu plus they are 4th degree black belts! They have trained several UFC fighters and Mr. Tong our Master Instructor!
